Que Syrah, Shiraz

Syrah is native to France, but was re-named Shiraz when it reached South Africa in the seventeenth century. This grape is now grown around the world, and we'll be exploring wines from North America, Australia and France so you'll be able to compare how their origins affect their taste. Tickets are $19.

Once considered "a most disobedient grape" during its brief stay in Burgundy, Gamay was banished south to the poorer region of Beaujolais. With time, this proved to be a more favorable environment for the less respected varietal. Come explore the history and evolution of this region, from its light, juicy everyday sippers, to the more serious and structured wines of Beaujolais' crus. Tickets are $39.
